We’re proud to announce that Angie’s List Magazine, in the October 2018 edition, showcases one of our homes in an article on the ideal way to build a mudroom in a custom home.
Angie’s List is one of the world’s most popular websites for home services (and boasts over 5 million members) and also publishes a print magazine each month with hiring tips, home improvement hints, and articles about design and architecture.
Titled “The Makings of a Mudroom,” the article lists five features that can make a mudroom a beautiful—and practical—addition to your home. In this case, the photo shown is the mudroom in our home “The Cottage at Millhaven,” which is a custom home in the Black Forest we entered in the 2016 Colorado Springs Parade of Homes. The house won nine awards, including “People’s Choice,” and the mudroom, in particular, was a notable part of the design.
We put a lot of careful thought into designing mudrooms. In Colorado, when a homeowner enters the home during the winter months, it’s important to provide this kind of “transitional” space. Mudrooms are the place where wet or muddy shoes can be stored, warm winter coats and umbrellas can be hung, and brooms can be stashed behind cabinet doors.
This particular shot of the Cottage at Millhaven’s mudroom is one of the most popular photographs we’ve ever shared online. For example, on our Pinterest account, the photo is displayed over 7,000 times each month to users searching for mudroom design ideas. On our Houzz profile, the photo has been seen over 91,000 times and has been saved to more than 2,150 “ideabooks.”
We’re happy to showcase our designs in publications like Angie’s List Magazine, and we hope that you find our designs inspirational. And as always, if you would like someone to help you create a beautiful and functional mudroom, feel free to contact us. We would love to design and build your custom home.
